WE GATHER TOGETHER

MUSIC IN PREPARATION

TRINITY IN ACTION

WE CENTRE OURSELVES IN GOD’S LIGHT

WE GATHER TO WORSHIP

CALL TO WORSHIP:

Shout to God, all the earth:

worship with gladness and joy.

 Come before God with laughter,

our maker to whom we belong.

To the Shepherd who tends us like sheep,

let us raise our voices in song.

 Come to God’s gates with thanks;

come to God’s courts with praise.

Praise and bless God’s name.

“Truly you are good:

 you are always gracious,

and faithful age after age.”

PRAYER OF APPROACH

Creator God, we hear your wilderness cry from the depth of our souls and long to answer.

We seek you out in the silence and beauty of nature, in the sound of the birds, the rustling trees, the lapping water, and the crunching of branches.

Our eyes and ears are opened to your presence in the newness of day, the brisk air, and the colours of the sunrise.

Be with us in this time of storytelling and memories, guiding us along the forest’s edge into oneness with you.

May we follow faithfully the footsteps of Jesus , who taught us to pray, saying:  Our Father….

Music Ministry - And on This Path

Responsive Reading (from We Cannot Keep from Singing, p. 25):

Each part of creation reveals unique aspects of God the Creator, who is both in creation and beyond it.

All parts of creation, animate and inanimate, are related.

All creation is good.

We sing of the Creator, who made humans to live and move and have their being in God.

In and with God, we can direct our lives toward right relationship with each other and with God.

We can discover our place as one strand in the web of life.

We can grow in wisdom and compassion.

We can recognize all people as kin.

We can accept our mortality and finitude, not as a curse, but as a challenge to make our lives and choices matter.

HYMN: God of the Sparrow           229 VU

REFLECTION

AND WE RESPOND

Creed Prayer

We are not alone, we live in God’s world.

You are present in the world and in our lives; Your activity and loving hand is made known to us through the beauty of creation and through the people around us.

We are called to be the church at camp: to celebrate God's presence…

We actively share in you, rest with our thoughts, discover the spiritual benefits of silence, solitude, contemplation and rest. In the faces of those around us, in the stillness of quiet moments, we celebrate your presence in the world. Camp provides time for us to just be, to listen and meet you in the struggles and joys of community.

We are called to live with respect in creation…

We eat, cook, and clean together, work and learn together, disagree and laugh together. We swim in lakes and seas, gather around fires, walk in woods, and gaze at stars. In creation and community we discover that you are a life-changing God.

We are called to love and serve others…

We are a ministry of the United Church that touches the lives of thousands of children, teens, young adults, adults, and seniors every year. We meet you at camp, experience healthy community, and deepen wholesome relationships. We receive from you a vision of Christian community to pursue, and tools to assist us in becoming a part of a healthy community.

We are called to seek justice and resist evil…

As campers we learn while engaging in acts of service according to the gifts you have given us. We learn to care for creation in practical and sustainable ways.

We are called to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen, our judge and our hope…

We are committed to Christian education programming, in an environment where your loving presence can be celebrated and shared. At camp we receive not only the biblical story to inform our story, but also opportunities to put our faith into practice. At camp we find concentrated and uninterrupted time together with mentors and counselors who can guide us in the process of growing in our relationship with you.

We are the church living, moving, and breathing, celebrating your presence together at camp, in creation and community.

PRAYERS FROM OUR HEARTS

OFFERTORY: (VU 603)

In loving partnership we come,

seeking, O God, your will to do.

Our prayers and actions now receive;

we freely offer them to you.

PRAYER DEDICATING OUR GIFTS:  We come together as one, O God, presenting our gifts.  You call us to be faithful disciples and you send us out to serve, so we ask you to bless us and our gifts, that we may tear down walls of injustice, that we may walk with those who are wounded,  and, that we may love our neighbours as ourselves. Amen.

HYMN:   I, the Lord of Sea and Sky                      VU 509

WE ARE SENT OUT INTO THE WORLD

BLESSING AS WE GO OUT TO BE GOD'S PEOPLE

As we breathe, the Spirit breathes in us.

We go forth to share that inspiration with the world.

As we live, the risen Christ lives within us.

We go forth to proclaim the Good News of Jesus.

As we give of ourselves, God’s grace transforms us.

We go forth to transform the world as disciples, one loving relationship at a time.

Now go, as a people gathered by the Sender of Love, upheld by the One who came in Love, sent out in the Power of Love. Go in peace.

CHORAL BLESSING: "Go Now In Peace"

Go now in peace. Never be afraid.

God will go with you each hour of every day.

Go now in faith, steadfast, strong and true.

Know God will guide you in all you do.

Go now in love, and show that you believe.

Reach out to others so all the world can see.

God will be there watching from above.

Go now in peace, in faith, and in love. AMEN. AMEN.  AMEN.
