WE GATHER TOGETHER

TRINITY IN ACTION

WE CENTRE OURSELVES IN GOD’S LIGHT

WE GATHER TO WORSHIP

CALL TO WORSHIP:

Open your eyes, for the light has come!

Once we were in darkness, but now in the Lord, we are light.

Live as children of light.

For the fruit of the light is found in all that is good, and right, and true.

It is good and right for us to gather in the house of the Lord today.

Let us worship God.

HYMN:  When Long Before Time             248 VU (v1,2,3 & 5)

PRAYER OF APPROACH:   O God, in the darkness of time,  you created all that lives and breathes.  In the darkness of our mother’s womb, you nurtured each of us, bringing us new life.   In quiet darkness, dreams emerge.  But darkness is also the place of being alone, scared, in pain, hurt, and fear. You, O God are the source of Light:   you call us out of night’s darkness to live in the radiance of your love.  You have sent Jesus, Son of Righteousness to illuminate the way!  As we gather, seeking strength for the journey through Lent, we ask that you be with us, gracious God, moving our focus from fears and concerns of the dark, to the hopes and visions of

new life.  Hoping for an awareness of your presence we pray as Jesus taught praying: Our Father….
