WE GATHER TO WORSHIP

CALL TO WORSHIP:

Today is a new beginning,a new chance to be alive with faith, full of compassion, ready to shout our joy for God’s good gifts.

Let us begin this day in worship.

HYMN : Angels from the Realms of Glory 36PRAYER OF APPROACH Loving God, we are filled with joy on this day with the arrival of a new year. We see in this new beginning a renewal of hope, which was dimming. We see an opportunity for peace deeper and richer than simply the absence of conflict. In this new year we feel a joy that captures our souls and a love that is radical and transforming. Gracious God, as we gather together in worship, we feel a sense of awe and wonder, and a profound gratitude for your most gracious gift of life. On our journey of faith we pray: Our Father…JESUS’ PRAYER

PRAYERS FROM OUR HEARTS

OFFERTORY: "As With Gladness" (81 VU v.3)

As they offered gifts most rare

at that manger crude and bare,

so may we with holy joy,

pure and free from sin's alloy,

all our costliest treasures bring,

Christ, to you, our heavenly King.

PRAYER DEDICATING OUR GIFTS

We offer our gifts, remembering the gift of love we have received in Jesus Christ. Gifts to bring a sense of wonder, to those whose vision is limited;

gifts to bring peace to those who are in conflict; gifts to bring love to those who feel unloved.

Bless these our gifts, O God, bless the spirit of our giving, and bless those in whom these gifts will come alive. Amen.

WE ARE SENT OUT INTO THE WORLDBLESSING AS WE GO OUT TO BE GOD=S PEOPLE
