WE GATHER TO WORSHIP

CALL TO WORSHIP:

HYMN :  "How Good, Lord, to be here" 103 VU (t.715)

PRAYER OF APPROACH  We thank you O God, for calling us into your church, to be your people.  We have gathered because we have heard your call.  You have reached out to us in Jesus Christ, you have touched us with your Spirit; and we have turned toward you, seeking to love, as we have been loved.  Empower us to worship and serve you, walking gently on this earth, through the grace of Jesus Christ who taught us when praying together to pray: Our Father…

JESUS’ PRAYER

A TIME FOR LEARNING

DEDICATION OF MEMORIAL GIFTS

Prayer of Intent:  Giver of all good gifts,  it is by your power that all things are made holy.  We give you thanks for your marvellous wonders, and for the work of human hands.  Be with us now as we receive these gifts.  We ask for your blessing and return them to your service.  May your face shine upon what we do here this day, that all might draw nearer to you and praise you.  Amen.

Presentation of the Gifts:  In memory of <name> and on behalf of Trinity United Church Women,

we present this hymn book to be dedicated to the glory and praise of God.

Gifts are Received: With gratitude, we accept this hymnbook.   We will care for it, and we will use it reverently.

Prayer of Dedication:

God of the whole human family,

we thank you for all that was beautiful and good in the lives commemorated today;

for the examples Electa Seiggel, Katharine Gilroy, and Dorothy Currie provided of faith and hope,

and for their love of your church,

God, you are the Singer and the Song;

you call us to enter your gates with thanksgiving, to make a joyful noise in praise of you.

Bless the use of these hymn books we dedicate today.

May we sing psalms and hymns with heart and soul and voice all our lives,

and in the life of perfect praise yet to come.  Amen.

PRAYERS FROM OUR HEARTS

OFFERTORY: "As With Gladness" (81 VU v.3)

As they offered gifts most rare

at that manger crude and bare,

so may we with holy joy,

pure and free from sin's alloy,

all our costliest treasures bring,

Christ, to you, our heavenly King.

PRAYER DEDICATING OUR GIFTS Giver of all good gifts, we bring our offerings to you with thanksgiving and rejoicing.  May we, with these gifts, share the beauty of God with all who walk in darkness.  Unite us in faith and mission, in caring and service.  Amen.

HYMN: Hope of the world 215 (t.491)

WE ARE SENT OUT INTO THE WORLD

BLESSING AS WE GO OUT TO BE GOD’S PEOPLE

CHORAL BLESSING: Arise, your light is come! (VU 79 v1&4)

            The Spirit's call obey;

            show forth the glory of your God,

            which shines on you today.

                        Arise, your light is come!

                        The mountains burst in song!

                        Rise up like eagles on the wing;

                        God's power will make us strong.
