WE GATHER TOGETHER

MUSIC IN PREPARATION

TRINITY IN ACTION - John Brown, Carol Schell, Anne Marie Wright

WE CENTRE OURSELVES IN GOD’S LIGHT

WE GATHER TO WORSHIP

CALL TO WORSHIP:
Our God calls us to journey the way of faithfulness.
We come to this Holy place with joy and thanksgiving.
Bring your amazement and awe. We are in the presence of the Glorious One.
We come to see and hear the Good News!

HYMN : O Radiant Christ, Incarnate Word VU 84

PRAYER OF APPROACH: Radiant God, with wonder and expectation we gather. We strive to be your people and look to this time of worship to strengthen and sustain us. Some of us are joyful, some are sad, in need of comfort, some of us are content, feeling "called" into our present life, some of us are angry at injustices in the world, some of us are lonely, needing a touch from another to convey your love to us. We come as we are, O God, ready to renew our relationship with you—through community, words, music, touch, and laughter. We approach you in worship with the prayer of Jesus, praying: Our Father...JESUS’ PRAYER

A TIME FOR LEARNING

HYMN: When Jesus Comes to Be Baptised VU 100: When Jesus Comes to Be Baptised VU 100

PRAYERS FROM OUR HEARTS

OFFERTORY: "As With Gladness" (81 VU v.3)

As they offered gifts most rare
at that manger crude and bare,
so may we with holy joy,
pure and free from sin's alloy,
all our costliest treasures bring,
Christ, to you, our heavenly King.: "As With Gladness" (81 VU v.3)

so may we with holy joy,
pure and free from sin's alloy,

Christ, to you, our heavenly King.

PRAYER DEDICATING OUR GIFTS: God, Glorious Giver. God, who has given us Jesus, the perfect gift. We offer our best gifts: our time, our talent, and our treasure, hopeful to use them faithfully and wisely. Accept the gifts we offer, and enable us to give with compassionate and generous spirits. Amen.

HYMN: Christ, When for us You Were Baptized VU 99 (t. 326)

WE ARE SENT OUT INTO THE WORLD

BLESSING AS WE GO OUT TO BE GOD’S PEOPLE

CHORAL BLESSING: Arise, your light is come!

(VU 79 v1&4)

The Spirit's call obey;
show forth the glory of your God,
which shines on you today.
Arise, your light is come!
The mountains burst in song!
Rise up like eagles on the wing;
God's power will make us strong.
