The United Church Women have as their purpose, while uniting all women of the congregation to the total church mission, to find a medium through which they express loyalty and devotion to the principles of Jesus Christ in Christian Witness, Study, Fellowship and Service. They assist in celebrating happy times in catering birthday and anniversary teas, various luncheons and dinners, as well as with funeral teas in the celebrations of lifetimes.
With moneys raised by the U.C.W. substantial support is given to the Mission & Service Fund; they allocated funds for a "Church project" this year; and continue annual support for Massey Centre, Fred Victor Centre, Camp Simpresca, Vacation Bible Camp, Trinity Youth Group and the Presbytery Bursary Fund. Winter 2011 upcoming events: - watch for a new fund raiser in the New Year ... meat pies! **The first batch of meat pies have been made, purchased and picked up! Very successful for all concerned - especially for those with more meat pies in their freezers ready for those evenings when no one wants to cook! Catering
The Nurses Alumni Dinner One event that the U.C.W. caters is the Nurses Alumni Christmas Dinner. These pictures show the beautiful set up of the tables and the room for the dinner.
Last year the Nurses Alumni Christmas Dinner was held on November 15th, 2011.
Another event catered by Trinity's UCW is the Retired Teachers Luncheon which in 2011 was held on November 21. **Any suggestions, questions or concerns to any UCW member, unit leader,or officer will be welcomed. |
