Trinity United Church operates several outreach activities·     

  • Food programs: monthly community dinner (third Wednesday of every month, 5 pm), food pantry (generally Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 10 am to noon), outdoor food box·     
  • The Susan Wells Crockpot Cooking Program, teaching crockpot cooking and inexpensive good nutrition, supplying recipes and crockpots to attendees ·     
  • A warming/clothing closet with seasonally appropriate donated clothing and footwear·     
  • A men’s coffee club approximately every second Monday, September through May or June, for informal socializing and information exchange·     
  • A shawl ministry with shawls crafted prayerfully, blessed by the congregation and gifted to those in need of comfort because of bereavement, illness or other life events·    
  • Support for Camp Simpresca by maintaining a cabin and helping to pay for children to make summer camp more affordable 

We support community, national and international outreach and social action initiatives, including:·     

  • Family Connexions Christmas gift program: white gift donations; gift bags for teens and infants; knitted mitts, hats and scarves·     
  • Coldest Night of the Year: Trinity is the start and finish point for this annual walk to benefit Home Horizon’s housing and outreach programs for local youth. Trinity members typically captain walking teams.·     
  • Collingwood Pride signs in support of the annual Pride weekend·     
  • Amnesty International Canada‘s annual “Write for Rights” campaign·    
  • Outreach activities of other community organizations who approach us 

 

Our Outreach & Social Action group usually meets monthly on the first Tuesday except for July and August. We welcome members and suggestions for outreach and social action activities and collaborations.
