Got questions about Trinity’s process in deciding whether to become an Affirming ministry? Want your feelings heard and your questions answered in an accepting, respectful and friendly gathering? Want to hear how others think and feel about it?
On behalf of the Affirming Group, this is a special invitation to attend the congregational affirming conversation after next Sunday's service. We're hoping to begin around noon and, depending on how things go, will be wrapping up by 1:00 pm. If you're unable to join the conversation on November 16, there'll be another chance on November 30. That second session will be a bit different but still provide the background, and the chance for conversation, for anyone who missed the first one. We need a chance to hear again, orally this time, about the process, and to exchange thoughts and feelings in a friendly atmosphere. We welcome your participation in one or both of these sessions. (We're not doing a lunch as such, but will have crackers, cheese and hummus, in addition to cookies, so that there's some protein for those of us who tend to need some by that time of day.)
We can gather around tables in the Banquet Hall starting about noon and staying for maybe an hour, Members of Trinity’s Affirming Group will be at the tables to hear your feelings and questions.
Affirming congregations are publicly, explicitly and intentionally open to people of all gender identities and sexual preferences. Affirming congregations explore various ways to make anyone, regardless of their identity and
background (racial, cultural, economic, mental and physical) feel safe in joining them for worship, community and service to others. We are all invited guests of God.
